Gloria Holcombe has nearly 30 years of experience at Kansas State University. As college administrators have come and gone, she has helped project a consistent voice for the College of Agriculture. With an uncanny skill to remember names, titles, and working relationships, she is the go-to resource for writing and editing any materials that represent either the college or K-State Research and Extension.
She plans the writing, photos, editing, and publication of two K-State Ag Reports every year. The other important project she leads is the production of the annual K-State Research and Extension legislative report entitled “Making a Difference for Kansans.” This project involves not only planning the content and assigning stories and photos throughout the year, but also coordinating video and Web production.
Her high professional standards have inspired her colleagues at K-State and across the profession. She is always willing to help a colleague find the answer to a question, connect to a resource, or learn something new.
She joined ACE in 1997 and served a three-year term on the board of directors and on conference committees for meetings in Savannah, Kansas City, Albuquerque, and Traverse City, Michigan. She was program chair for the Michigan meeting and host committee chair for Kansas City. She currently serves as the Kansas state representative.
