Learning Community Director-elect

Lori Greiner
Virginia Cooperative Extension

Lori Greiner currently serves as the communications manager for Virginia Cooperative Extension. She plans and implements comprehensive communication and marketing activities in support of Extension’s goals. She is also responsible for news writing and information campaigns geared toward internal audiences, the university and the college’s direct constituencies, and the people of Virginia on the topics of agriculture and natural resources, 4-H youth programs, family and consumer sciences, and community viability. Lori works with other university and college communication staff to ensure coordination of media and public relations activities, and she is the content manager for Virginia Cooperative Extension’s website.

During her 18 years at Virginia Tech, Lori has also served as communications manager for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and as public relations coordinator and customer advocate for Virginia Tech’s Office of Student Programs. Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, she held positions with the Iowa Soybean Association as the member programs director and with the Michigan Farm Bureau as a regional representative. Lori has a bachelor's degree in food systems economics and management with a second major in agriculture and natural resources communications from Michigan State University.

She has been a member of ACE since 2004 and currently serves on the Membership Committee and the 2017 ACE Conference Committee. She recently completed her term as chair of the Writing Learning Community.

Lori has found ACE to be an invaluable resource. “Having the ability to network and gain knowledge and inspiration from my colleagues across the country has helped me become better at what I do. As the Learning Community Director-Elect, my goal would be to enhance ACE’s professional development opportunities through the learning communities and to strengthen the learning community network. It is important that we continue to enhance our members’ experiences and build on our strengths.”
