Elizabeth Gregory North leads Agricultural Communications for the Mississippi State University Extension Service, managing more than 30 professionals.
Previously, she held various positions with Texas A&M AgriLife, including Extension Communications Leader and Brand Manager for the creation of the Texas A&M AgriLife brand. She began her land-grant communications career as publications editor with the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service.
At the national level, North served as a National 4-H Strategic Planning Process consultant, the National 4-H Discovery Team for Communications and Marketing co-leader and National 4-H Brand Review Team member. She also led a three-year marketing campaign for the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences. She served on the ECOP Communications and Marketing Task Force and led implementation of the National Extension Branding Initiative. Currently, she represents ACE on the Communication and Marketing Committee for the APLU Board on Agriculture Assembly.
North received the ACE Pioneer Award, several Outstanding Professional Skill Awards, the Award of Excellence in Marketing, various C&A awards and the ACE Professional Award. She was Marketing SIG chair, Southern Region Director and program chair for the Marketing: Finding the Right Fit workshop program chair and on the membership committee.
An Alabama native, North holds a bachelor’s in English from Auburn University and a master’s in English literature from the University of Rochester.
