Terry Meisenbach was born January 22, 1952, in Minden, Nebraska. He received a bachelor's degree in journalism education from Kearney (Nebraska) State College in 1974, and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska in 1984.
From 1974 to 1979, he taught high school journalism in western and central Nebraska and accepted a position as assistant instructor in the agricultural communications department of the University of Nebraska. In 1987, he became coordinator of publications at Nebraska and assumed responsibility for the agricultural journalism program.
Meisenbach joined ACE in 1979, serving as Nebraska state representative and north central director. He received an ACE Pioneer Award in 1987 and the ACE Award of Excellence in publications in 1990.
He left the University of Nebraska in 1997 to become director of communication and information access for USDA's cooperative state research, education and extension service.
